It lacks the original snare, and I use a Ludwig LM400 instead.
Recently bought a sonic + wooden snare (pic 1 pic 2 pic 3) on Ebay.
Cymbal set : Paiste 2002 16" crash, Paiste 2002 20" ride (original, not reissues), Pro X-Celerator 14" Sabian hats.
Why Sonor ? Well, my drum teacher is a sonor geek, with a signature kit, and a designer one (at least, they were the 2 kits he owned when I moved and settle elsewehere). After an old Tama Swingstar kit we had at the music school, he obtained in 1993 a replacement with a Force 3000 "natural" wooden finition.
Since then I always promised to myself that I will eventually get a hand on a Sonor kit...
I began to play in rock bands with a Mapex Saturn kit at the very beginning of this brand, then moved in South Pacific where I saw an ad in the local newspaper selling a Sonor Kit, that was it ! It was overall in poor condition, with parts missing (no snare, an Asba "Caroline" foot pedal, but some nice A Zildjian ride and hats ;-) I took it back to France, left it there because I had to reach London, England, where I studied drums @ Drumtech, and later on, Drumsense with Colin Woolway. I then bought an old Rogers jazz kit (not the original US model, but the UK ones made by Ajax).
After that I came back, eventually took the time to refurbish my Sonor kit
(washed every tom, nuts and bolts), and there it is ! Almost as white as its first day ;-)
Wishlist includes : A Sonor deep (8x14) phonic wooden snare.
